There are 2 main training-caused injuries:
  • Over-use injuries result from performing an action or movement repeatedly over a period of time. This can happen two ways: either the activity is being performed with poor mechanics, or the prescription of the activity is wrong (i.e., too frequent or too intense).

 

  • Functional injuries happen when there is a neglect of training the "core" and dynamic movements. The result is muscle imbalance and an ineffective body system.

 

 
 
 
 
Flexibility!
Poor flexibility is another major cause of injuries and can easily be prevented by:
  1.  A daily stretching routine.
  2.  A proper dynamic warm-up routine before activities.
  3.  Adequate stretching after activities.
