Attainable 2019 New Year’s Resolutions

Published on December 12th, 2018

It’s that time of year again. For many, the New Year is a great opportunity to reflect on progress that has been made throughout the past year while simultaneously looking forward to the year ahead. While healthy habits and changes can be established at any point in the year, the new year is a great chance to start fresh. This year, our fitness center near Wayne, NJ wants to help you make goals with which you can actually follow through. Here are some tips on how to make your resolutions attainable and successful!

Small is Good

It is important to start small. Don’t make lofty goals that are completely life-altering; you’ll likely find these too daunting to even begin. For example, if your goal is to exercise more in our fitness center near Wayne, NJ, try to get to the gym two times a week instead of every day of the week. Once you start achieving small victories, you can gradually start making your goals bigger.

Talk It Through

The more people that know about your goals, the more accountable you have to be. Let friends and family members know about your goals so they can help hold you accountable. You can also join support groups, Facebook groups, or other social groups to be surrounded by like-minded individuals.

Don’t Be Too Hard on Yourself

Beating yourself up for every small misstep will only result in frustration and giving up. You can expect ups and downs during your journey, but that is completely normal!

What are your New Year’s resolutions this year? Whatever they may be, try to keep them going throughout 2019!
