Group Fitness Training
So, what exactly is Group Fitness Training? Group fitness training is a workout that focuses on community in a small to medium group size environment. It will keep you on your toes with short rest time and intense intervals. The goal is to push your body in order to burn stubborn body fat and build muscle quickly and safely with your peers. Our group fitness training session is 45 minutes to 60 minutes long and you are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like.
When you sign up for Group Fitness Training at Advanced Sport you also can take part in our group nutrition support. We know how important having correct nutrition is to attaining your fitness and weight loss goals so we offer free group nutrition to our group training clients and private nutrition counseling as an extra charge to leave no guess work in how you should be eating.
If you are unsure whether Group Fitness Training is right for you or not versus a more private setting like 1:1 training, you can do a short trial membership or even just try a complimentary with no commitment at all.
Whether you are highly athletic or brand new to working out, we accommodate to wherever you are in your journey. All you have to do is give it your best effort and have the right mindset to stick to it once you start. You’ll have the support of our exercise physiologist and your fellow classmates to keep you motivated and focused on the end results. That is the beauty of group fitness training.
Our group fitness sessions are different from boot camp classes. Many of the members that join the group fitness program have limited workout experience and are not in optimal shape before they start. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and to make you happier and healthier.
Below is a list of the variety of classes we offer with more information on what to expect.
Boot Camp: A popular interval class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. These boot camps are designed in a way to be different all the time and push our participants harder than they’d push themselves. We want to keep you guessing – and challenge you differently every class! Although our instructors may push you like a drill sergeant, our goal is to offer encouragement rather than intimidation. We want you to have tons of fun – but please be prepared for some high intensity training!
Barre Class: This class uses natural body movements through dance and strength training to help the muscles we use in our everyday activities become more functionally strong. The endurance and coordination exercises will target your core, burn body fat and define your body beautifully!
Cardio Kick Boxing: This class takes the participant through a series of cardio and strength training exercises with relatively brief rest intervals in between. The purpose is to keep the heart rate elevated near the aerobic level without dropping off to ensure fast, dramatic fitness results. Since the program is fast-paced and offers variety, it can be more interesting than a typical class that focuses on only one aspect (cardio or strength).
20/20/20: This class offers three segments of different types of cardio, strength and core based formats that can change every week. Each segment will be approximately 20 minutes long. If you are somebody that likes variety, then you will love the spontaneity of this class. Fusing together intensities and different types of exercises create intervals and variations that shock your body into getting more fit!
Strength & Movement: Mind/Body Strength combines the intensity of weight training with the core strength of Pilates and the discipline of Power Yoga. You will use hand weights, stability balls, tubing, and your yoga mat. You will be challenged to develop muscle tone, core strength, stability, and an overall mind/body balance .
